Created in 1971, the Association Culturelle franco-Japonaise de Tenri's goal is to develop cultural exchanges between France and Japan, through various activities, such as Japanese language, ikebana, Japanese and French cuisine classes. In february 2000, the association settled in a new space, including an art gallery, a library and an auditorium.

The Comptoir des écritures was created in 1989 to explore and show the various calligraphies of the world. The space is divided in a shop and an exhibition hall. It also hostes the activities of l'Aractère, an association whose aim is to promote and teach calligraphy.

This is the French branch of the Tamenaga Gallery of Tôkyô. Kiyoshi Tamenaga,owner of the gallery, first came in France in 1956. In 1971, he decided to open a space in the French capital. This place is dedicated to figurative art and to the first School of Paris.
